After a humiliating experience of going through a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, Peoples Bank offered me the opportunity to obtain a mortgage two months after I was discharged from bankruptcy. All other banks and credit unions require a waiting period of 1-2 years. It took a couple of months to close the loan because I was also dealing with a “zombie” home in Florida that my name needed to be removed from prior to FHA approval of the loan. That proved to be a long and frustrating process; however, Kenny Graeber and Marilyn MacNeil never gave up on me and guided me through the steps necessary to accomplish this. We began a lengthy, but rewarding process where a number of issues regarding my credit history had to be corrected. I’m normally not a person who writes reviews, but the experience I had with Peoples Bank was so wonderful that I had to share. After being discharged from bankruptcy, I did not think I would have a chance of being approved for a home refinance loan. I especially never thought a traditional bank would even consider us for a loan. I received a letter in the mail from Peoples Bank stating they could help me lower my house payments. I decided to go out on a limb and give them a call. I was so surprised when my Loan Officer, Danny Messier, stated he could help me qualify for a refinance loan. I was skeptical because of our previous experience with our old loan company. I went ahead and gave Danny the documents he and his team members requested. Danny delivered on his promise and my loan closed in less than 60 days from my initial consultation.
