After a humiliating experience of going through a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, Peoples Bank offered me the opportunity to obtain a mortgage two months after I was discharged from bankruptcy. All other banks and credit unions require a waiting period of 1-2 years. It took a couple of months to close the loan because I was also dealing with a “zombie” home in Florida that my name needed to be removed from prior to FHA approval of the loan. That proved to be a long and frustrating process; however, Kenny Graeber and Marilyn MacNeil never gave up on me and guided me through the steps necessary to accomplish this. I’m normally not a person to write reviews, but I want to share the experience I had working with Peoples Bank. We had recently come out of bankruptcy and no traditional banks would consider us for a loan. We received a letter in the mail from Peoples Bank stating that they could help us. I was discouraged and didn’t want to pursue it, but my husband decided to go out on a limb and give them a call. To our surprise, the Loan Officer stated that he could help us get a home. We weren’t convinced, but we went along with him. I will tell you that he delivered on his promise. We ended up closing on our home about 60 days after we started the process. I thank God for Peoples Bank as they helped to put us back on the road to home ownership. Most importantly, Peoples Bank delivered on the promise that they could help us. If you are dealing with financial issues and you do not think it’s possible to purchase a home, please give them a call. They will be upfront with you on what they can and can not do. Peoples Bank reached out to me via a letter. Shortly after I responded, I received an email from Tom Del Monaco. We began a lengthy, but rewarding process where a number of issues regarding my credit history had to be corrected. Tom found many erroneous items in my credit reports and worked tirelessly to correct them. Eventually, the task of obtaining a lender fell to Joe Del Monaco. Here the problem was a mountain of paperwork and verification. The duration of the process was seemingly endless, and there were moments when I wanted to forget the idea. But Tom and Joe were reassuring that together we could get this refinance done, and I trusted them. In the end they came through for me. They restored my good name, improved my credit scores, eliminated bad information, and freed me from a very poor mortgage servicing provider. It’s as if I resurfaced from a deep pool where I can breath again, and feel whole again. It’s a wonderful feeling.
